RICHARD J. JOHNSON, CFA
Richard Johnson is chief executive officer and chief investment officer of the firm. Prior to forming Tygh Capital Management, Mr. Johnson was the CIO for Columbia Management Advisor's Portland equity team and lead portfolio manager for the small/mid cap team. Prior to joining Columbia Management in 1994, he served as vice president and securities analyst for Provident Investment Counsel (1990-1994). Mr. Johnson graduated cum laude with a BA degree in geology from Occidental College in 1980 and received his MBA degree from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA in 1990.
JEFF B. CURTIS
Jeff Curtis is the president and chief operating officer of the firm. Prior to forming Tygh Capital, Mr. Curtis had that same role at Columbia Management in Portland, Oregon (1993-2004), where he was responsible for all operations of the company except the investment process. Before joining Columbia, he was a corporate and securities lawyer with the largest firm in the Pacific Northwest, Stoel Rives. Mr. Curtis has an undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon and graduated magna cum laude with a JD degree from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College.
MITCHELL S. BRIVIC, CFA
Mitchell Brivic is a senior vice president and an equity analyst. Prior to joining Tygh Capital, he worked at Columbia Management from 2002 - 2004 as an equity analyst on the small/mid cap team. Before joining Columbia Management, he worked at USAA Investment Management from 1994 - 2002, where he was an associate portfolio manager and senior equity analyst for their small cap growth products. He received his MBA degree from the Wharton School in 1995 and his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Baylor University in 1989.
MICHAEL C. COYNE, CFA
Michael Coyne is a vice president and an equity analyst. Prior to joining Tygh Capital in 2004, he worked at Columbia Management from 2002 - 2004 focusing exclusively on small/mid cap equities as a research analyst. Mr. Coyne has four additional years of experience as a financial analyst with Capital Resource Partners and Bear Stearns. Mr. Coyne earned a BA degree in engineering science from Dartmouth College in 1997 and received his MBA degree from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA in 2005.
DAYTON E. RODEGERDTS, CFA
Dayton Rodegerdts is a vice president and an equity analyst. Prior to joining Tygh Capital, he worked at Columbia Management from 1998 - 2004 focusing exclusively on small/mid cap equities as a research analyst. He earned a BS degree in engineering with a minor in mathematics from Trinity University in 1998.
SCOTT W. HAUGAN, CFA
Scott Haugan is a vice president and an equity analyst. Prior to joining Tygh Capital, he worked at Columbia Management from 2003-2005 as a research analyst and also held equity analyst/institutional sales positions at Pacific Crest Securities from 2000-2003 and First Analysis Securities from 2005-2007. He earned a B.S. degree in business from Montana State University in 1999.
THOMAS R. ABERNETHY
Tom Abernethy is a vice president and the head trader for the firm. Prior to joining Tygh Capital, he worked for Columbia Management from 1999-2004 as a senior equity trader. Mr. Abernethy was previously an equity trader for Stein Roe & Farnham from 1995-1999 and the Chicago Board of Trade from 1990-1995. He earned his BA degree from Denison University.
BRET D. HOKKANEN
Bret Hokkanen is a vice president and responsible for marketing and client service. Prior to joining Tygh Capital, he worked at Columbia Management from 2001-2006 in the same position. Before joining Columbia Management, Mr. Hokkanen worked for 18 years in institutional sales with McDonald Securities, Dain Rauscher and Boettcher & Co. He received his MBA from the University of Portland and his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University.
